Charity Brand Index 2012
For the fourth consecutive year Third Sector Research, in association with PRWeek and Harris Interactive, present the Charity Brand Index: a comprehensive assessment of the nation's Top 105 charity brands based on a survey of more than 3,200 members of the UK public.
The report aims to arm charity communications teams with the hard data they need to measure their effectiveness and compare their performance with other charities working in their cause area and beyond, as well as enabling them to track their own organisation's performance year on year.
Description
The Charity Brand Index is based on in-depth survey of 3,200 UK adults carried out by Harris Interactive that assessed the brands of charities on a wide range of measures, including recognition, trust, willingness to donate, effectiveness of media coverage and advertising, attitudes towards the charity's cause and understanding of the charity's work.
The comprehensive report details the findings of the survey for 105 charities and also includes tables of the results for easy reference and analysis of how this year's results compare to the findings of the Charity Brand Index from the past two years. The report is provided in hard copy form and with a CD that contains the tables included in the report as Excel spreadsheets.
Purchasers of the Charity Brand Index can also buy the full data set for any of the 105 charities in the report. These data sets contain finer details from the survey, information on how responses varied by age and gender, and additional questions not included in the main report. Data sets are only available to purchasers of the Charity Brand Index report.
Methodology
The Charity Brand Index survey asked 3,200 UK adults for their views on 150 charities. The results were then weighted to reflect the national UK population.
The 150 charities chosen for the survey were those with the highest combined annual income from (a) voluntary income and (b) charitiable activities based on their latest annual accounts from June 2012.
In addition all charities included in the survey had to be registered with the Charity Commission, not be an exempt charity, and operate in at least 10 local authority areas.
